The First Descendant has received a hotfix update 1.2.23b for Steam and Xbox Series X|S, addressing some annoying bugs that have been affecting gameplay. PS players will have to wait a bit longer for their update, but for now, here’s what’s being fixed.

Patch Date and Platforms

  • Date: July 25, 2025
  • Platforms: Steam, Xbox Series X|S (PlayStation update coming later)

What’s Fixed?

  • Players stuck on the “Eye of Truth” mission in White-night Gulch > Border Zone should now be able to progress normally again. This one was a big headache for many.
  • The explosive object that was supposed to appear in Void Vessel on Normal difficulty now shows up correctly, so no more empty spots during combat.
  • Research requests can be made again even after dismissing a Descendant, fixing a frustrating block in the crafting system.
  • The “Move to Albion” UI on the right side of the screen won’t be misaligned downward anymore after finishing content through matchmaking like Void Intercept Battles. That UI glitch was kinda distracting.
  • For Nell players, a nasty bug has been fixed that prevented recalling “Breach Link” (C skill) while using “Gaze of the Abyss” (Z skill), causing all actions except moving and jumping to stop. You’ll now be able to fully use skills as intended.

It’s always good to see these fixes come through, especially when they help clear up mission blockers and skill issues that kill the flow. I’m curious if anyone else got stuck on that “Eye of Truth” mission? It drove me nuts! Have you tried the patch yet? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
