The First Descendant just got a quick tune-up with Hotfix 1.2.17, and it’s all about making your skills hit harder and removing some annoying penalties. If you’ve been grinding through the Void Erosion Purge, this patch might make your runs feel smoother and more rewarding.
The update dropped on across Steam, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5.
Patch Details
- Adjusted difficulty for Void Erosion Purge: Normal (Stages 1–30):
- Increased Skill Damage for Descendants, so your abilities pack more punch.
- Removed penalties that affected inferior and disadvantageous attribute skills, letting you use a wider range of skills without being punished.
- Removed penalties for inferior and disadvantageous attribute skills in Void Erosion Purge: Challenge (Stages 1–5), making those early challenge stages less punishing.
Director’s Comment: After the 1.2.14 update, the team reviewed gameplay data and noticed some skills still needed a boost. This hotfix aims to help more Descendants get the most out of their skill sets in various situations. There’s a heads-up about the upcoming 1.2.18 update introducing the Mutant Cell system, which will further improve skill effectiveness. Sounds like things are about to get even more enjoyable!
