Update 1.3.18 for The First Descendant is live on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. The patch adds a new playable Descendant, a new Hard Infiltration map, new weapons and modules, a seasonal Battle Pass, a suite of balance updates, and platform availability on the Microsoft Store and Xbox App for PC with Xbox Game Pass perks.
New Descendant: Dia. The patch introduces Dia, who centers on Frost mechanics and interaction with a new resource named Delight. Dia’s core skill set includes Frozen Delight which ties Skill Power to Delight, and raises Skill Critical Hit Rate in proportion to Max HP. Her primary skills are:
- Glacial Clash. A forward spear stab that inflicts Snowflake and White Panic; holding the skill becomes Glacial Breakthrough, letting Dia move continuously and deal damage; hitting Snowflake-afflicted enemies with a melee weapon causes them to explode.
- Ice Wall. Grants the Ice Wall effect and deals area damage; using Ice Wall during Glacial Breakthrough boosts Movement Speed. If Ice Wall is active, using it again increases Skill Critical Hit Damage and DEF, and it heals when the effect ends.
- Avalanche. Launches an Avalanche that drifts forward and pulls enemies; striking the Avalanche with Glacial Clash triggers a Chill Explosion and repeated triggers grant Frost Thorn.
- Frost Storm. Fires a Frozen Spire that moves forward, deals damage, and slows on impact.
Dia also has two Transcendent Modules documented in the notes. Blooming Ecstasy changes Glacial Clash to Snowflake Clash which tethers targets and causes immediate Snowflake explosions, converts Frost Storm to Frost Bloom with charge-scaling power and range. Chill Brand lets attacks create Chill Brands, increases damage with more brands, converts Ice Wall to Brand Surge (attaches owned Chill Brands to the enemy to deal DOT), and changes Avalanche to Glacial Wedge which becomes stronger with charge time.
New Infiltration Operation: Exposed Underwater Base. The patch adds Exposed Underwater Base to Infiltration Operation: Hard. Players can reach the map from the World Map under Axion Plains, from Albion’s Infiltration Operations Terminal, or via the Axion Plains Exposed Underwater Base Beacon. Axion Plains received Tactical Mobility Teleporter No. 5. Vehicles are rideable across all zones, including the Commander Combat Zone. During the mission, monsters with Champion Special Effects such as Lightning Strike or Survival Activities can appear randomly.
Mission completion rewards include a 10% chance for Trigger Module Loot F (which yields one of three new Trigger Modules), a 10% chance each to obtain several Dia Blueprints, a 15% chance each for new Ultimate Weapon E-Buster blueprints, a 5% chance each for Dia Transcendent Tier Modules, collectible coins, and Superconductive Cooling Units. Defeating a Commander can yield Frozen Gas Crystal basic materials, Trigger Module Selection Box A at very low chance, Ancestors Module Loot at a very low chance, Ancestors Module Readjustment Materials, a chance at Ultimate Tier Modules, and Dimensional Stabilization Keys in varying quantities.
New weapons and modules. The patch adds the E-Buster submachine gun with the Unique Ability Entropy Overlap. Using Electric skills grants Entropy Overlap which raises Movement Speed. While active, Tracking Projectile skills grant Entropy Conversion and Entropy Energy Rounds. Entropy Conversion boosts Electric Skill Power. Entropy Energy Rounds are consumed by firearms to deal extra damage and trigger Multi-Hit.
The Beam Rifle Eye of the Typhoon is also added with a Unique Ability that toggles between Typhoon Mode and Storm Mode by pressing Aim. Typhoon Mode auto-targets enemies and builds Typhoon Energy. Storm Mode consumes Typhoon Energy for a high-damage aimed attack.
Three new Ultimate-level Arche Tech modules were added: Arche Resonator, Tactical Advantage, and Lucky Coin. The patch also adds three Trigger Modules named Focus and Expansion, Icebreaker, and Overcharge Shield. Trigger Module Loot F can drop from Exposed Underwater Base with a 10% chance, and Trigger Module Selection Box B replaces a previous selection box with 27 component types including the three new Trigger Modules.
Descendant rebalance and improvements. Several Descendants received tuning. Yujin’s default passive ‘Stop Overreacting’ now grants higher Max HP and longer duration, and Combat Protocol’s sound was changed. Enzo’s passives ‘Firing Specialist’ and ‘Compressed Bullet’ were adjusted so Prep Effects required to trigger Firing Specialist drop from 3 to 2. Kyle’s skills had base damage reduced by roughly 30% while introducing scaling that increases damage by about 0.4% per 100 Shield up to 88.4% to make Shield-based scaling more meaningful; his Transcendent Module Superconductive Bombing MARK 2 increases Bombardment fire rate by about 50%. Gley and Ultimate Gley received broad changes to many skills, module behavior, and new Transcendent Modules including large adjustments to HP cost, Power of Life costs, damage multipliers, and Frenzied behavior. The patch also adjusts Synchronization Values for several Descendants to reflect performance changes.
Seasonal and leaderboard changes. A new Episode 3 Battle Pass titled Unveiled Truth is available with updated Seasonal and Weekly challenge counts and adjusted Battle Pass EXP rewards. The Void Intercept Battle leaderboard switches to the new Colossus Infernal Walker. That leaderboard period runs from after maintenance on 02.05.2026 through 03.12.2026 00:19 PDT. Void Erosion Purge Challenge Difficulty monster levels were raised from 260 to 400. Ranking rewards for Void Erosion Purge: Challenge and Void Intercept Battle: Challenge “Grim Reaper” will be awarded via in-game mail to top 100 finishers in the specified modes and platforms, with expiration windows for medal use noted in the official notes.
Xbox PC launch and Game Pass. The First Descendant is now listed on the Microsoft Store and Xbox App for PC. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can install and play the game and claim in-game perks from Cash Shop > Xbox Game Pass In-Game Perks. The available perks period runs from after the 02.05.2026 maintenance through 04.16.2026 00:00 PDT. Full crossplay and cross-progression support is available across platforms.
Companion App and events. The companion app will receive a Research Request/Completion update on February 6, 2026 PST. The patch launches multiple events including a 35-day login event “Steps Toward the Truth” running from after the 02.05.2026 maintenance through 03.18.2026, new player and returning player 14-day login events, a weekend content boost event called “Descendant’s Weekend” that applies across five weeks, an Accelerate Research Week event that shortens research times through various content runs through 02.25.2026, and additional event categories such as Ancestors Module Enhancement Week and starter-only Battlefield Support Operation with specific periods listed in the official notes.
Shop, UI and quality of life. New shop bundles and cosmetic items were added including Dia-related bundles, Dance Night themed skins, new vehicle paints and attachments, and premium cosmetics. The Ultimate Freyna Starter Pack sales period was extended to March 25, 2026. The module inventory capacity was raised to 10,000 from 2,500. Other UI improvements include new tooltips across inventory and module screens, a “Show Only Equipped Items” option in certain menus, additional shortcuts for Battle Pass challenges, improved mail collection behavior, and improved guide and tooltip information across multiple screens.
Bug fixes and miscellaneous adjustments. The update fixes a range of issues across Descendants, weapons, content, monsters, UI, and more. Examples include fixes to Enzo’s passive indicator when using melee weapons, Luna’s passive stack display, Nell’s Encrypted Vault dialogue, Beam Rifle charge and reload behaviors, mission target counts, HUD markers, and multiple collectible changes.
