The Finals just dropped their Season 6 update, and it’s packed with a fresh Limited Time Event, a new map, and a bunch of fixes that players have been waiting for. If you love chaotic 5v5 battles and smashing opponents off the edge, this update might be your new obsession!

Heavy Hitters Mode and Pop Drop Arena

The highlight of Update 6.9.0 is the Heavy Hitters event, a 5v5 Platform Fighter mode where everyone swings a sledgehammer. The goal? Knock your opponents off the edges of the brand-new Pop Drop Arena. It’s all about raw power and momentum, with aerial chaos and intense showdowns fueled by the new sponsor flavor, OSPUZE Tiger Juice. Contracts in this mode unlock fun rewards, so prepare to earn your stripes!

Check out the action here:

XP Dash and Sponsor Showdown

Season 6 is nearing its end, and the XP DASH event is live, giving players bonus XP and Fans to speed up progress. Whether you’re catching up or pushing ahead, this boost is perfect for finishing strong.

Also, the Sponsor Showdown heats up as OSPUZE, ENGIMO, and ALFA ACTA battle for dominance. Every match you play counts toward your sponsor’s daily standings, with map visuals changing to reflect the leading brand. By season’s end, only one sponsor will reign supreme.

Watch the Sponsor Showdown here:

New Twitch Drops and Arena Updates

Watching The Finals on Twitch now unlocks the Broadcast Blaze weapon skins. Whether you want to show off style or support your favorite contestant, these drops are a must-have.

In the arena, water in Kyoto no longer slows you down, letting you move freely like an aquatic creature. Plus, the P.E.A.C.E. Center is now part of Team Deathmatch, adding fresh tactical options.

Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

One of the biggest wins in this update is the fix for lingering visual effects that could stick to players forever—things like burning, invisibility visuals, and tracking darts. This fix finally stops enemies from being permanently tracked through walls and ends annoying visual glitches like teammates constantly appearing on fire.

Other notable fixes include:

  • Improved melee weapon hit detection for more dependable combat.
  • Recoil adjustments on weapons like ARN-220 and FAMAS for smoother eager.
  • Increased accuracy on the KS-23 across various movement states.
  • Balance tweaks to the XP-54 to bring it more in line with other weapons.
  • Animation fixes for jump pads, melee strikes, and ladder interactions.
  • Audio improvements, including muting game sounds in spectator pause and fixing inspect sounds.
  • UI updates like new loading screen layouts, better filter options, and fixes to pointer visibility.
  • Performance optimizations and crash fixes.

Map and Mode Adjustments

Kyoto’s water no longer slows movement, and several map props have been fixed for better destruction and collision. Other modes like Power Shift, Quick Cash, Team Deathmatch, and Terminal Attack received bug fixes to improve fairness and gameplay flow.

Sledgehammer and Accessories

To celebrate Heavy Hitters, a variety of hammers are now available to equip on Heavy contestants. Plus, OSPUZE Tiger Juice brings new accessories to help you channel your inner predator.

Watch the hammer madness here:

Season 6 is eager to be a wild ride with this update’s mix of new content and solid fixes. What do you think about the Heavy Hitters mode and the Sponsor Showdown? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
