The Division Resurgence is now available for free on Steam. The game’s Steam announcement, published August 5, 2026, confirms that PC players can join the fight alongside mobile users through full cross-play and cross-progression.
That means agents can team up with friends across supported platforms and continue their progress when moving between PC and mobile. Returning players can pick up where they left off, while new players can begin their campaign in a post-crisis version of New York City.
Set in a shared open world, The Division Resurgence is a third-person shooter RPG built around solo missions and cooperative play. Players take on the role of an agent in the Strategic Homeland Division, battle hostile factions, and shape their combat style through different Specializations.
The game also tells an original story set within The Division universe. With the city in ruins and threats spreading across New York, the Steam launch gives PC players another way to join the fight without an upfront purchase.
