The Division 2’s latest update, Crossroads, brings a ton of new content and changes that might just disrupt your agent life. The highlight? The Battle for Brooklyn DLC, dropping May 27, invites players to Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo to take on the menacing Purple Flame. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
Once Bardon Schaefer wakes from his coma, the Division finds itself in a race against time and the Black Tusk to protect a deep-cover asset hidden inside the Sokolov Concern. If Sokolova finds out who he really is… well, things won’t end well for him. This narrative thread pulls you deeper into Crossroads, but the update also packs in tons of new gear, gameplay tweaks, and quality of life changes.
Battle for Brooklyn DLC
This new DLC sets the stage for upcoming threats with fresh enemies and skills, including the return of Smart Cover. There’s also a shiny new Catalyst Exotic Mask waiting for players who go into into this campaign. The DLC unlocks right after the server maintenance on May 27.
Modifiers: The Season’s Core Mechanic
The update introduces a global modifier called Hard-Core, which boosts your Firearms, Stamina, and Electronics stats based on your Gear Cores and how you perform against enemies marked with Hostile Countermeasures. Kill those marked enemies and watch your bonuses grow! The tier system ranges up to Tier 5, where you get instant ammo and armor kit refills plus cooldown resets.
There are also Active Modifiers that consume your current attribute score for powerful temporary boosts. These modifiers like Broken Link and Assault Link can really turn the tide in combat, especially when playing with a squad. Meanwhile, Passive Modifiers give you steady bonuses depending on your attribute tiers, such as increased very important hit damage or extra protection from elites.
Hostile Countermeasures
Enemies now come with up to three different marks — Firearms, Stamina, and Electronics — each granting them distinct buffs. For example, Firearms-marked foes hit harder and move faster, while Electronics-marked enemies are tougher against skill damage. Taking down these marked enemies is very important to boosting your own attribute scores.
Manhunt Scouts & Seasonal Journey
Manhunt Scouts are now more flexible. You only need to complete two High-Value Target scouts to unlock the Climax Mission, and the rest can be tackled in any order or skipped. The Seasonal Journey also got a revamp: missions 4, 5, and 6 unlock simultaneously, letting you pick objectives that fit your style. Passive and active modifiers are tied to specific objectives, making progression feel more personal and adaptable.
New Gear, Weapons & Talents
Prepare for fresh build options! There are two new Named Weapons, several talents, a new Gear Set called Measured Assembly, and a Brand Set named Imminence Armaments. Exotic hunters will want to chase the Pakhan Exotic RPK-74, which stacks magazine size with each kill — talk about firepower!
Exotic gear includes the Nimble Holster that heals you while running cover-to-cover, and the exclusive Catalyst Exotic Mask tied to the Climax Mission. If you remember the Pakhan from the original Division, this weapon’s return is sure to make you smile.
Master Climax Mission
Completing the Master difficulty Climax Mission rewards you with the Tinkerer Exotic Mask. This mask has a cool talent that lets your Primary weapon benefit from your Secondary weapon’s talent if they’re the same type and neither are Exotic or Named. Pretty neat, right?
Player Onboarding & Quality of Life
New players get a boost with Milestone Builds, which offer gear and weapons at key levels (8, 15, 25, 35) along with quick tips to understand how builds work. Season XP rewards have been increased by 85%, and Seasonal Journey objectives can now be completed in co-op sessions.
Scavenging Points are now shared across all characters on your account (except Hardcore ones), and resource rewards from these points have tripled. Plus, the new Level 40 Boost instantly levels characters to 40 with a full gear set — perfect for jumping into endgame content.
