Bandai Namco‘s Tekken 8 has received a vital maintenance update – version 2.05 – on September 2, 2025, which corrects an issue where multiple female characters shared the same chest model. The patch also adds a win-rate display for ranked matches and several minor balance fixes.
The shared model problem became widely discussed after new bikini costume options arrived earlier this summer, when players noticed a surprising lack of anatomical variety. Bandai Namco says the similarity was not intentional, and Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada explained the situation directly in a public post. Katsuhiro Harada’s post on X outlines the adjustments and shows GIFs that compare the old and new parameters. The visuals highlight targeted changes to chest proportions across several female fighters.
Supplementary Notes on the V2.05 Update

One character singled out in developer comments is Asuka. The update reduces muscle mass around her shoulders and upper chest area to better match her intended silhouette, after community observations that her model looked unusually broad at the top. Harada also notes that larger corrections for some characters remain planned but were not applied all at once to avoid model instability. Those further fixes may arrive in later patches once stability can be preserved.
Beyond character models, version 2.05 introduces a new win-rate display so players can see match statistics against individual characters in online ranked play. That feature is small compared with the model corrections, but it gives a clearer look at performance trends when queuing for matches. The update also contains a set of balance tweaks addressing buggy interactions; most are modest adjustments rather than sweeping changes.
Players reacted strongly to the patch notes and the comparison GIFs, and the conversation in forums and social media reflects a mixture of amusement and relief. It is an oddly specific fix to make headline news, but the change matters for character identity and costume presentation. A single joke aside, the patch shows the developer is listening and correcting visual mismatches where they appear.
