If you were counting down the days to Dying Light: The Beast, you might need a bit more patience. Techland has announced a one-month delay, pushing the release to September 19, 2025. The reason? They want to spend extra time polishing the game, which honestly sounds like a smart move.
Techland shared that it’s always been their goal to make this the best Dying Light game yet. They admitted that a good first impression matters a lot, so with just four more weeks, they plan to refine the gameplay balance, clarify the UI, enhance physics quality, tweak cutscenes and animations, and add some final touches. Sounds like they’re really trying to get those details right.
For fans worried about waiting, Techland promised more updates this summer and even a demo at Gamescom next month. There’s also a special update about gore coming soon. I’m kinda glad they’re being transparent about this instead of rushing out something half-baked. Wouldn’t you agree?
Also, for those who own the ultimate edition of Dying Light 2, you’ll get The Beast for free since it was originally planned as DLC. Even though it grew into a full standalone sequel, Techland is sticking to that promise. If you don’t have the ultimate edition, the game will cost $59.99.
The story brings back Kyle Crane, the original hero, who’s out for revenge after years of brutal experiments by the Baron. You’ll juggle your human and beast sides to survive a zombie-infested world, and there’s four-player co-op if you want to bring friends along for the ride.
So, yeah, it’s a bummer to wait longer, but I’m hoping this extra time means a smoother and more satisfying experience. Are you holding out for the demo at Gamescom? What do you think of Techland’s decision? Let’s chat in the comments!
