Team Ninja Investigates Save Data Issues in Rise of the Ronin for PC

The community is concerned as Rise of the Ronin on PC players is facing troubling issues with their saved data. Since its release on Steam on March 11, many have reported that their hard-earned progress has vanished unexpectedly, leaving them to start anew. This situation has caught the attention of Team Ninja, who are currently looking into these claims.

A thread on the Steam discussion forums highlights this issue vividly. One player shared, “Been playing for a few hours and next day it magically vanished.” Responses followed from others echoing similar frustrations; some mentioned losing over eight hours of gameplay. The emotional toll is palpable as players recount their experiences, one user lamented about losing five hours while another claimed they had lost between ten to fifteen hours of progress.

Team Ninja, known for their dedication to quality gaming experiences, took to social media to address these concerns directly. They posted: “We are currently investigating the reported save data issues for Rise of the Ronin Steam edition.” In addition, they provided a link to a support message detailing potential workarounds that might help affected players recover some lost progress or mitigate further losses.

  • Finding backup save data.
  • Following extra steps when saving to Steam Cloud.
• Turning off file-sharing options for services like Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.

The studio reassured fans that they are actively resolving this and other ongoing issues. Their message concluded with an apology for any inconvenience caused during this frustrating time.

The PC version boasts various features explicitly tailored for computer gamers—including support for ultra-wide monitors and impressive resolutions up to 8K at 120fps alongside custom keyboard and mouse settings. Exclusive improvements available only through Steam include DirectX 12 Ultimate support and ray tracing capabilities improved by technologies such as AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution and Nvidia DLSS.

This unfortunate incident comes amidst mixed reviews from critics; currently holding a score of 74 on Metacritic, many reviewers have pointed out performance-related challenges within the game itself.
