Escape From Tarkov is getting a more tactical stance system, and Battlestate is pairing that with a broader summer roadmap that reaches into weapon handling, AI, and core tech.
In a developer diary video on YouTube, Mikhail Ivanov said Battlestate plans to add High Ready and Low Ready stances. High Ready keeps the weapon up for a faster response, while Low Ready lets players hold it in a more relaxed position to save stamina and cut down on fatigue.
Ivanov also said the AK animation and modding pass is already finished, including handguards, gas tube covers, and the option to run the weapon without a gas tube cover. The part Battlestate still has to work through is implementation, since Tarkov has a huge number of AK presets and a changed weapon skeleton. He added that the Mosin rifle is next for a full animation pass.
Mag loading animations are also in development, and Battlestate said the hard part is handling the many magazine shapes in Tarkov, including drum mags and the P90 magazine.
The roadmap points to July as the start of the next phase. A Blackout event will come first, then Season 1 will follow with a task rework, group-shared kill objectives, hideout and insurance rebalance, better enemy AI, new weapons and gear, PMC customization, and extra help for new players.
Q3 then brings ranked leagues, a Lighthouse rework, first-person magazine loading animations, containers with gear presets, simplified GPS, invite-a-friend and return bonus programs, trader reputation changes, the option to skip Prestige requirements for a large in-game fee, Unity 6, and FSR 4.0.
Tarkov still has a long list of moving parts ahead of it, and this summer will tell us a lot about how Battlestate wants the game to feel from here on out. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
