Berserk Games announced on its Steam community page that Tabletop Simulator will get a free 2.0 update during 2026 that reworks the interface and adds a paid mods marketplace.
The developer describes the update as “a series of major updates that we will be releasing for free with the goal of modernizing Tabletop Simulator and setting up the platform for success over the coming decade and beyond.” The new UI will include two distinct modes: Play Mode, which is aimed at making sessions less cluttered and easier to use, and Edit Mode, which gives creators more control over building and customizing content. Berserk Games also says the interface will be friendlier to Steam Deck users.
On top of the UI changes, the update introduces a marketplace where creators can sell mods. That marks a shift for the community, which has long traded user-made content for free. Berserk Games frames the marketplace as a way to support creators while keeping the core update free for players.
Details on pricing, revenue splits, moderation, and how the marketplace will integrate with existing mod distribution were not fully listed in the announcement. The Steam post is the primary source for the developer’s breakdown and will be the place to check for follow-up specifics as Berserk Games rolls the changes out.
