On December 18, 2025, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke said the studio will hold an AMA in the new year to answer questions about the company’s use of generative AI and its development practices. Vincke posted the promise on X and said the AMA will let players ask about Divinity and how Larian’s teams actually work.
The announcement came after a Bloomberg interview this week in which Vincke described some of the ways developers at Larian are experimenting with AI tools. Vincke told reporters the studio is not using generative AI to produce in-game art, writing, or voices, but the comments prompted swift backlash from parts of the gaming community. Vincke’s X post linked directly to the AMA promise and said a date will be announced in the new year. The studio has framed the session as an opportunity for direct questions about Divinity and the dev process, and not as a formal policy briefing.

Larian revealed its next entry in the Divinity franchise at The Game Awards earlier this month. The AMA could give players a clearer picture of which tools Larian uses behind the scenes and which tasks remain strictly human. Vincke said the studio will announce the AMA date after the holidays.
