Sucker Punch Productions announced on December 16 that co-founder and longtime producer Brian Fleming has left the studio after nearly 30 years. Sony Interactive Entertainment published a blog post saying Fleming, who helped build Sucker Punch from 1998 onward, stepped away and that Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley will take on leadership responsibilities. The post notes that Nate Fox will continue as co-creative director while Connell and Bentley guide the studio’s creative and technical direction.
Fleming’s tenure covered the studio’s run from Sly Cooper and the inFamous series through the Ghost games, including the recent Ghost of Yotei. The Sony post framed the move as a transition and said Fleming had worked closely with PlayStation Studios to place Sucker Punch in what the company called the best hands for the future.
The announcement highlighted Connell’s role shaping the franchise’s visual and narrative identity and praised Bentley’s work leading engineering and tools development. The statement described their pairing as a blend of creative vision and technical leadership and closed by wishing Fleming well.
This leadership change arrives while Sucker Punch’s latest work continues to draw attention, and readers can find recent coverage of the studio’s momentum in a piece about Ghost of Yotei’s early performance on the charts on Console PC Gaming, which looks at where the studio might head next and what a follow-up could mean for its franchises.
