Subnautica 2’s Rebreather is sitting in a bunker near the Lifepod

Players can find a scan target in a small Colonist Bunker about 275 meters southwest of the Lifepod, then craft the Rebreather with 2x Fiber Mesh and 1x System Chip.

Subnautica 2 does not waste much time turning oxygen into a problem, and the Rebreather is one of the first tools worth hunting down. You only need to scan a single copy to unlock the recipe, and there is a reliable spot for it if you want to head straight there.

Where to find the Rebreather

The Rebreather is inside a small Colonist Bunker roughly 275 meters southwest of the Lifepod. Once you reach the bunker, go inside and look to the right. The tool is sitting there ready for a scan.

There is also more than one Rebreather in the world, so you may run into another copy while moving through new areas. Still, the bunker is the quickest route if you want the recipe unlocked early.

How to craft the Rebreather

After you scan the damaged version, the crafting recipe opens up. Building one requires 2x Fiber Mesh and 1x System Chip.

That is a fairly light recipe, so most players should be able to put one together soon after they find the scan target. Once equipped, the Rebreather helps you stay underwater longer while you keep pushing into deeper water.
