Dr. Doot, a streamer with a doctorate in music composition, has finished the entire Dark Souls trilogy without taking a single hit while using an electronic saxophone controller known as an aerophone. He posted a clip of the final boss fight against Gwyn, Lord of Cinder, on X on January 3, 2026, showing the run’s ending and the moment the trilogy run closed out.
The World's First Sax-Controlled Dark Souls No-Hit Run has been DOOTED!
I just beat Dark Souls without getting hit by a single enemy/trap while playing the game on an electric sax!!!
I now can officially say that I have beaten THE ENTIRE DARK SOULS TRILOGY HITLESS ON A SAX!!! pic.twitter.com/Bo0FrCBfQt

The aerophone sits between a musical instrument and a game controller – Dr. Doot maps notes and breath inputs to game actions and plays through bosses and encounters live. He streams regularly on Twitch, where he has used the same setup for other extreme runs.
Beyond the Dark Souls trilogy, Dr. Doot has completed Elden Ring hitless and finished Bloodborne and Sekiro without dying, all while using his unusual input method. He’s also run tougher platforming and boss challenges on the aerophone in games like Cuphead, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.
This run arrives alongside a steady trickle of extreme technical performances in the Souls scene; for a different kind of record run, see our coverage of a recent Dark Souls 3 speedrun.
