The team behind Stellar Blade has announced that a PC demo will be available starting May 31st. This allows players to try the game before its full release on June 11th. It’s a great opportunity to see if the fast-paced combat and mysterious world resonate with you.
In Stellar Blade, you take control of Eve, who is on a mission to save what remains of Earth. Along the way, she teams up with various characters, facing formidable enemies and uncovering the secrets of a shattered world. The gameplay focuses on smooth, quick combat with remarkable, powerful combos. You unlock new moves and upgrade weapons as you play, strengthening Eve for the challenges ahead.
Boss fights are a key part of the experience. These aren’t just about quick reflexes; they’ll test your strategy and timing, requiring careful thought and fast action. It’s a mix that keeps encounters intense and rewarding.
The setting is a broken Earth filled with danger and mystery. Exploring these lands reveals the story behind the devastation while giving you a chance to bring hope back. The game’s PC version promises a few extras, including an HD Texture Pack and support for ultra-wide monitors. According to Shift Up’s Steam page, there will be a 4K environment texture option to improve visual quality. The game runs on Unreal Engine 4 and offers uncapped framerates, NVIDIA DLSS 4, and AMD FSR 3.0 support from launch.
One thing to note is that Stellar Blade uses Denuvo anti-tamper technology. That might lead to some stuttering during traversal, especially with uncapped framerates, but we won’t know for sure until the demo is out and players can test it themselves.
Graphically, the PC version should look better than the PS5 edition, mainly due to higher-quality textures, shadows, and level of detail. However, it won’t be dramatically different, so if the art style didn’t appeal to you on console, it likely won’t on PC either. And while the game supports DLSS and FSR, it won’t have any new PC-exclusive ray tracing effects.
For those curious, the whole game is scheduled for release on PC just a few weeks after the demo, on June 11th. That gives you a short window to test things out and decide if you want to play.
