Stellar Blade has released patch 1.3.0 on Steam, but some players are experiencing trouble launching the game after installing the update. The developers have suggested that uninstalling mods might resolve these issues for now.
Patch 1.3.0 arrived almost two months after the June 18 update. Since then, the development team at Shift Up has faced challenges, including cryptocurrency scammers hijacking the game’s social media accounts. Now, this latest patch seems to clash with certain mods, leading to startup failures.
Several players have reported on the Steam forum that the game fails to launch after updating. A developer known as Wolfcastle responded, pointing out a possible incompatibility with UE4SS (Unreal Engine 4 Scripting System) or other mods. Their advice is straightforward: delete those mod files from your PC and try launching again. If problems persist, patience will be necessary until Shift Up delivers a permanent fix.
Patch 1.3.0 also brings some improvements like an enhanced Photo Mode that now shows a logo control indicator when selecting logos. Other fixes address the in-game shop, cutscenes, voice-over lines, and the FSR scaler among other things. It’s kinda frustrating when mods interfere, right? But at least the devs are upfront about it. Maybe they’ll patch things up soon and bring back mod support without hassle. For now, if you’re struggling to launch Stellar Blade after updating, try removing your mods first.
