Steam plans to end its curated Discounts & Events calendar sometime in early 2027 and move to a more personalized way of showing deals. The change is intended to help buyers discover a wider range of discounted games.
Steam has already paused scheduling curated placements in the section, including Weekend Deals, Midweek Deals, and Daily Deals. The company outlined the shift in a Steamworks announcement, describing a move away from a manually arranged calendar toward dynamic recommendations tailored to each customer.
Experiments over the past few months replaced some curated sections with personalized recommendations. Steam says the tests let it show buyers 10 times more games in a single day, while page visits, wishlists, and items added to carts also increased.
The new system is still in development, and Steam has not announced a specific launch date. Developers will also receive new and updated tools to manage discounts and sale events.
