Hold onto your helmets, troopers! The latest update for Starship Troopers: Extermination, dubbed Update 1.1, is set to hit our screens on November 13th, 2024, at precisely 10 AM PT (GMT-7). This patch promises a wealth of improvements that aim to refine your bug-squashing experience while adding some delightful new features. So grab your Morita MK1, and let’s dive into the details!

- Optimization for Beacons: Replace Beacon Skeletal anim cycle with vertex animations.
- Optimization of Base Ammo Crate skeletal mesh.
- Optimization for the following LODs (Changing how detailed objects in the game look based on how far away they are from the player):
- Ammo Boxes
- S.P.L.I.T Drum Shotgun
- MG Turrets
- Morita XXX Sniper Rifle
- FU-17 Flamethrower
- Optimizations to the root bones of Gunner Bugs.

A Loadout Locker? Yes, Please!
This update introduces a shiny new feature called the Loadout Locker. You’ll find these handy lockers at the back of your initial dropship in modes like AAS, ARC, and Hive Hunt. In Horde mode? They’ll pop up randomly during those nerve-wracking first two waves before self-destructing like a heroic sacrifice in a cheesy action film. But here’s where it gets interesting: you can tweak your loadout early in games but won’t have that luxury later on. Why? Because choices matter! With incomplete intel about combat situations, every decision counts, especially when you’re knee-deep in bug guts.
The beauty here lies in strategy, different classes shine at various stages of missions. Engineers might be kings early on while Guardians could save your skin during climactic sieges. Plus, if you find yourself amidst an army of snipers right out of the gate, no sweat! Just sprint back to that dropship and adjust accordingly without being shackled by bad team compositions all match long.
Your Company Stats Are Here!
Tired of flying blind? The new Company Stats feature gives players a peek behind the curtain at their collective achievements against those pesky bugs:
- Intel Gained: Track total Intel accumulated through missions, because knowledge is power!
- Company Operations Completed: See how many operations you’ve crushed together as a team.
- Your Officers’ Ambition: Measure how many operations they’ve initiated, strategy matters folks!
- Total Victory Points Earned: The ultimate testament to your company’s prowess across Galactic Fronts.
This is just scratching the surface! Future updates promise even more stats that’ll make you feel like King of the Hill, or rather, King of Planet X-11, and keep those competitive juices flowing amongst comrades-in-arms.
Diving into Quality-of-Life Enhancements
The developers have also listened closely to feedback regarding weapon mastery within Special Operations Group missions. Players can now master one weapon by completing all 25 solo missions or earn XP across unlocked class weapons as needed, meaning grind responsibly or get rekt trying! Solo missions are repeatable three times for Class and Weapon Mastery XP but watch out for diminishing returns each time you replay them!
Keen Eyes Will Notice…
This update isn’t just about shiny new things, it fixes pesky bugs too (pun intended), including:
-
- No more infinite queue times during Quick Play matchmaking, a true win!
- The redeploying after respawning issue leading to invincibility has been squashed like a bug beneath booted feet!
A Few Known Issues Still Lurking…
-
- Trophy progress for Bug Kills on PS5 appears stuck, hang tight while they work this out!
