Can you believe it’s been 13 years since STAR WARS: The Old Republic launched? It feels like yesterday when we were all diving into that galaxy far away. Let’s take some time to chat about what’s cooking in the universe of SWTOR!
Game Updates
This year started with Galactic Seasons 6 “Building a Foundation”, introducing delightful Date Night Companion missions featuring fan favorites like Arcann and Lana Beniko. If you haven’t checked them out yet, I highly recommend giving them a whirl! In late May, we welcomed Game Update 7.5, “Desperate Defiance,” which continued our main storyline and modernized Hutta. Talk about a glow-up!
The fun didn’t stop there; with Game Update 7.5.1 came Galactic Seasons 7 “The Greatest Bounty”, extended until January 7, so make sure you’re collecting those bounties to snag fantastic rewards! And let’s not forget about the most recent update on December 10th, Game Update 7.6. This one brought Dynamic Encounters and introduced the formidable Propagator Core XR-53 Operation Boss alongside PvP Season 7.
Modernization Efforts
You might wonder why modernization is necessary for such a beloved game that started in 2011. Well, technology marches on, and so must we! With improvements made to Tython, Korriban, Hoth, and Ilum in the latest patch, players can expect an even richer experience as graphics and gameplay mechanics evolve.
I’ve seen firsthand how these updates breathe new life into familiar landscapes, which is satisfying! Plus, character models are getting an upgrade, too; it’s like seeing old friends dressed up for a fancy party!
Exciting New Features!
If you’re rocking a Mac, good news awaits! An open beta test for the new Mac launcher is now live after successful closed testing last October. Mac users can finally join in on the fun without hassle!
And have you heard about those fabulous new items inspired by Lucasfilm Games’ collaboration with Skeleton Crew™?
