On 9 September 2025, the Switch 2 edition of Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft received its first title update, and Ubisoft confirmed a timed demo for Switch 2 arriving later this year. The patch targets performance, visual quality and several in-game bugs, so current owners will see immediate fixes.
A time-limited demo for Star Wars Outlaws is already available on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, and Ubisoft now says a Switch 2 demo will follow later in 2025 via an updated FAQ on the game’s official website. It isn’t yet clear whether the Switch 2 demo will match the three-hour, mid-game slice offered on other platforms, or if Nintendo’s version will differ. Owners on Switch 2 can download the title update now and will likely notice clearer visuals and steadier performance. The update is live now.
Ubisoft said the patch “includes a range of fixes including clearer visuals when moving quickly through the world or using binoculars, user interface updates and performance improvements“, and the developer also addressed several gameplay issues in the first title update. While early reports from Gamescom suggested the port might struggle, multiple subsequent videos and technical analyses showed steady frame pacing and consistent detail, prompting wider praise for the Switch 2 edition’s optimisation. Digital Foundry’s John Linneman has been quoted on social media, calling the port “insanely impressive” for the hardware.
