STALKER 2 just got an update on July 24, and things are a bit complicated, especially if you run mods. GSC Game World has released patch version 1.5.2 for PC and Xbox Series X|S, which fixes some issues but may significantly impact your mod setup.
The patch addresses a couple of key issues but also comes with a pretty serious warning for mod users. If you have mods installed, you might experience performance or stability problems after the update. The devs even said that mods may not hold up against the changes this patch brings. So yeah, if things start acting weird, disabling mods is probably your best bet.
What’s Fixed in Patch 1.5.2?
- Fixed a problem where a door to the Shevchenko hub was stuck closed.
- Fixed two random crashes that could happen during gameplay.
It’s kinda wild that the developers had to publish a separate note just to warn about mod issues. You can check that out here. I mean, who doesn’t love mods, right? But sometimes updates shake things up in ways that mods can’t handle right away.
Additionally, if you missed it, the PS5 version of STALKER 2 has been announced and is expected to be released before the end of the year. So there’s more to look forward to besides this patch.
Have you tried the patch yet? Did your mods survive it? Let’s chat about it in the comments below.
