GSC GameWorld released Title Update 1.7.1 for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl and published the full patch notes outlining the tweaks and fixes. Steam will download the update the next time the client launches, and the changelog shows the update is focused on stability, a new mod fail-safe, controller dead zone fixes, and a handful of visual and gameplay corrections.
One of the important changes is a fail-safe mechanism designed to let the game start when mod incompatibility would otherwise prevent launch. The patch also addressed several crash cases and corrected dead zone settings for the DualSense controller, which should make controller users less likely to feel abrupt input quirks.
Visual and performance fixes in 1.7.1 include a removal of a large frame-rate drop triggered by opening the PDA when Shadows was set to Epic, fixes for artifacts that could spawn under the ground, and specific cinematic shadow and texture corrections such as the strange shadows on Skif’s hands during the Back To The Slag Heap cutscene.
Gameplay bugs fixed in the update include preventing the player from sprinting while overloaded, stopping players from attaching weapon parts via the trade window, and correcting NPC issues like teleporting Ward units and Ward soldiers failing to hold position. The patch also fixed several smaller presentation and settings problems such as incorrect values shown after using auto-detect or reset.
