GSC Game World confirmed two story-driven DLCs for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl are already in development, a studio developer said in an interview. The team is balancing post-launch fixes and a PS5 port, so those expansions probably won’t arrive right away, but they are officially planned.
GSC has continued to support the game since its launch, and the studio is now moving beyond simple fixes.
STALKER 2 Has Two DLCs In Development
The confirmation came from GSC Game World Technical Producer Yevhenii Kulyk in an interview with Danish site Arkaden. A community poster on Reddit, Zelenobot, shared the quote.
Kulyk told Arkaden, “It’s safe to say that we plan to release DLC for STALKER 2, just like we did with the original trilogy. The base game and then two DLCs. It’s actually included in the Ultimate Edition of the game. If you buy it, you get the DLCS, which are focused on being story-driven. I think we’ll be ready to share something new about that in the near future, the two DLCs are already in development.”
Beyond expansions, GSC recently confirmed a PS5 release for November with PS5 Pro enhancements. The team is juggling the port and new roadmap items, so the DLCs might be a way off. The studio also laid out upcoming changes as part of the game’s updated roadmap. The DLCs were explicitly mentioned as part of the Ultimate Edition package, so buying that edition will include them.
The game had a rough launch for some shooter fans due to technical issues, but GSC has pushed numerous updates since then; some of the past problems are starting to feel resolved. If you want a deeper look at how the game stands now, check our full review. Will we get a proper expansion announcement before the year ends? Maybe, maybe not, but the important part is it’s not a rumor, a developer said it. I’m kinda glad to see story DLCs on the table. I am Mihaela and stay tuned for more!
