An official Steam news post for STALCRAFT: X warns that the developer is reworking the farming economy and will reduce how much players get when selling Data Fragments and Data Blocks.
“Significant changes are coming soon that will greatly reduce the value of selling all Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Lambda fragment and data blocks.”
The post says the change is intended to make the farming system more balanced and sustainable. Players who have been stockpiling large numbers of Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Lambda fragments and the corresponding data blocks should assume their sell value will be lower once the update lands and plan accordingly.
That advice matters more now because the game recently ran a boosted farming event that increased gains, creating bigger player hoards. If players bought into that event or spent the time farming during it, they may want to move or spend those items before prices fall. Our prior coverage of the recent boosted farming event explains how the bonus altered farming incentives.
Practical steps are simple. Use or trade what cannot be consumed, convert what the game allows, or spend fragments in vendor systems while their value still holds. The announcement does not list exact numbers or a firm date for the adjustment, so players should treat the change as imminent and act now if they rely on fragment sales for income.
