STALCRAFT: X has opened the STALZONE Art Contest, giving players four ways to create work around the tulpa! season. The contest runs from September 21 through October 19, while the results are scheduled for November 2, according to the official Steam announcement.
Participants can submit traditional artwork, digital pieces, 3D scenes, or AI-generated art. Entries must be made specifically for the contest and connected to STALZONE, but players may enter every nomination and submit an unlimited number of different artworks.
Choose from 4 contest nominations
- Hand Drawing covers traditional artwork created by hand on paper.
- Digital Art is for work made with a graphics editor.
- 3D Scene entries must be created with 3D models.
- AI Drawing is the only nomination where AI use is allowed.
The three non-AI categories will also have their top three entries displayed on a special stand in the game. The AI Drawing nomination uses a separate reward structure.
How to submit an entry
- Create an original piece from scratch using the tulpa! season as its theme.
- Add your signature and the date of creation to the artwork.
- Post the entry in the matching section of the official STALZONE Discord server. The available sections are Hand Drawing, Digital Art, 3D Scene, and AI Drawing.
- Include your exact in-game nickname, region, and a link to a high-quality version of the image.
The accepted regions are RU, EU, NA, NEA, and SEA. Artwork can be submitted to multiple nominations, and the same participant can enter as many different pieces as they want during the contest period.
Rules artists need to follow
AI use is prohibited in every nomination except AI Drawing. Collages, comics, reused artwork, advertising, and pieces that are not directly related to STALZONE will not be accepted. Submissions also cannot contain offensive or Nazi symbols, references to prohibited groups or organizations, erotic content, or material that violates game rules, platform rules, or the laws of the Russian Federation.
By entering, artists agree that EXBO may use their submissions for marketing or other purposes. The full terms are available in the General Contest Provisions, and EXBO reserves the final interpretation of the contest rules.
Rewards for Hand Drawing, Digital Art, and 3D Scene
The reward ladder applies separately to each of the three categories. The packages include in-game items such as the Artist’s Cloak, 99% Barter Coupon (Master), Wooden Crates, Season Crates, Season Currency, Season Points, Premium, Achievement rewards, and Charms.
- 1st place: 1 Artist’s Cloak, 1 99% Barter Coupon (Master), 5 Wooden Crates, 100 Season Crates, 100,000 Season Currency, 100,000 Season Points, and 180 days of Premium, along with Achievement and Charm rewards.
- 2nd place: 1 Artist’s Cloak, 1 99% Barter Coupon (Master), 3 Wooden Crates, 80 Season Crates, 80,000 Season Currency, 80,000 Season Points, and 90 days of Premium, along with Achievement and Charm rewards.
- 3rd place: 1 Artist’s Cloak, 3 Wooden Crates, 60 Season Crates, 60,000 Season Currency, 60,000 Season Points, and 60 days of Premium, along with Achievement and Charm rewards.
- 4th to 5th place: 2 Wooden Crates, 30 Season Crates, 30,000 Season Currency, 40,000 Season Points, and 30 days of Premium, along with Achievement and Charm rewards.
- 6th to 10th place: 1 Wooden Crate, 30 Season Crates, 30,000 Season Currency, 30,000 Season Points, and 14 days of Premium, along with Achievement and Charm rewards.
- 11th to 20th place: 15 Season Crates, 15,000 Season Currency, 15,000 Season Points, and 7 days of Premium, along with Achievement and Charm rewards.
AI Drawing rewards
Every entry placing from 1st through 10th in AI Drawing receives the same package. It includes 3 Wooden Crates, 2 Season Crates, 2 Unstable Anomalous Batteries, 67 Lemons, 5,000 Season Currency, 5,000 Season Points, and 1 day of Premium.
How entries will be judged
EXBO identifies technical execution as the first major criterion. Judges will consider skill, consistency, how well the style fits the story, the cohesion of the elements, the atmosphere, and the level of detail. A simple style can still score well when the finished piece feels complete and consistent.
The idea behind each entry is equally important. Artwork should tell an understandable story, show how the tulpa! theme was interpreted, and present that idea in an original, impressive, funny, or otherwise clear way. Recognizability of the game is also part of the judging criteria.
