STALCRAFT: X Explains How Bleeding Works and What Deep Wound Chance Means
New info cards break down bleeding damage, protection, and the escalating effects of the status.

STALCRAFT: X has published new info cards explaining how bleeding affects a character, how its damage is calculated, and what the “deep wound chance” on knives means. Bleeding can come from bullet wounds, certain mutant attacks, melee weapons, and radiation infection, so understanding its effects matters well beyond a single weapon stat.
The Steam post with the info cards explains that bleeding reduces health regeneration and makes healing less effective. Its severity is not shown as a numerical value in the interface, and at higher levels the damage and healing penalties can affect a fight before a player has time to clear the effect.

For bleeding caused by a weapon, the calculation uses the damage dealt after accounting for limb multipliers, distance, and armor plates, along with bullet resistance, vitality, and bleeding protection. The card gives the formula as Weapon damage × 100 ÷ (100 + total bullet resistance) ÷ (vitality ÷ 100) × 20 × (1 - bleeding protection ÷ 100). For a player’s melee attack, the formula is Knife damage × 20 × (1 - bleeding protection ÷ 100). The separate “deep wound chance” stat is the chance that a melee hit on another player causes bleeding.

Bleeding protection reduces damage from the effect, but it does not cancel its debuffs. At 100% protection, bleeding damage falls to zero. The cards also recommend Bandages, Hemostat, Astrixin, and Biopath for dealing with bleeding. A character passively loses 10 bleeding points per second, and the effect can stack up to 1,500 points.

The status has 4 levels, with thresholds at 0, 300, 500, and 1,000 bleeding points. At level 4, the listed penalties reach -40 regeneration and -180 healing effectiveness, while bleeding deals 2 damage per second. The cards also warn that periodic healing cannot restore health once healing efficiency reaches -100%.
