Splitgate 2 Launches ‘Hunt the Devs’ Event with Exclusive Dev Killer Skins

Players can hunt developers in Splitgate 2's Battle Royale to earn special faction-themed skins.

Splitgate 2 has announced a limited-time event called Hunt the Devs, where players get the chance to eliminate developers in-game and unlock distinct skins. This event adds a fun twist to the Battle Royale mode, inviting everyone to track down devs sporting disco ball heads and special name tags.

The main attraction is the Dev Killer skin, which is covered in skulls and shows off your victory over a developer. Interestingly, there are three different versions of the skin, each matching one of the game’s factions. You’ll earn the skin corresponding to the dev you manage to take down, regardless of your own faction allegiance. It’s a neat way to urge some faction rivalry and a bit of friendly chaos.

Wondering how to spot a dev? They’ll stand out with a disco ball for a head, yes, that’s the Splitgate logo, and a special developer name tag floating above them. It’s kinda like a glowing target, but you want to be quick because these devs will be dropping into matches only during specific times.

The event kicks off on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM PT. The playlist for this event is exclusively Splitgate Battle Royale. All developers will be present during this window, which is your best shot to hunt them down and claim those coveted skins. If you miss out, don’t fret; the devs plan to jump into matches throughout the weekend, so keep your stay alert and your aim sharp.

It’s a pretty cool way for the community to interact directly with the people behind the game, and who doesn’t love a good game of tag with some skull-themed rewards? Have you spotted a dev yet? Or maybe you’ve managed to snag one of those skins? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments below!
