Space Marine 2 Patch 15 Will Add Chaos Siege Mode, Crucible Penances, and More
The same announcement places the Second Anniversary Update and Season Pass 3 in early October, while the current event rewards 100 Accolades plus 150 Requisition Points.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Patch 15 is still being prepared, but the next major content update already has plenty waiting in the armory. Chaos Siege Mode, a new Crucible Mode, a Tactical class rework, and the One-Hander Thunder Hammer are all planned additions. No release date has been announced yet.
Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment outlined the upcoming features in the August Community Update, along with details about the game’s second anniversary, a live community event, and the growing modding scene.
Chaos Siege Mode takes the fight to Avarax
Chaos Siege Mode will let players fight as Chaos Space Marines on a brand-new Siege map located on Avarax. The battlefield will throw waves of Tyranids and Loyalists at the squad, while Chaos Cultists and Ritualists provide support during the battle.
Players will also be able to deploy a Helbrute to tear through the opposition. Between the enemy waves and the heavy Chaos war machine, this Siege variant should give Operations a very different rhythm when Patch 15 arrives.

The One-Hander Thunder Hammer reaches 4 classes
The One-Hander Thunder Hammer will be a fast weapon that can switch between single-target strikes and area attacks. It will be available to the Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Techmarine classes.
That gives four classes another close-range option, with Tactical receiving the biggest changes elsewhere in the patch.
Crucible Mode adds personal penalties to Operations
Crucible Mode will add a new way to raise the difficulty of an Operation. Before heading out, players can speak with the Chapter Chaplain and choose a Penance, which applies a personal debuff to the mission.
Completing the Operation under those conditions will award Purity XP. That progression unlocks unique customization items and armor parts. Each Penance has its own tier, challenges, and rewards, while taking on more debuffs will grant more XP at the cost of a harder mission.
Crucible Mode is designed as an endgame challenge, so a class must reach level 25 before it can participate. In other words, this is not the place to send a rookie Marine with a fresh chain sword and misplaced confidence.
Tactical gets more room for melee builds
The Tactical class will receive a broad rework to its Perk Tree, giving players more ways to build around different combat styles. One of the clearest changes is the ability to give up the Primary Weapon and equip a Power Sword, Power Axe, or One Handed Thunder Hammer instead.
Players who prefer to keep their distance will get another option as well. A Class Perk will allow Tactical to replace the Secondary Weapon with a Primary Bolt Rifle, opening a different route for ranged builds.
Cape Recolour and the Year 3 plans
The previously teased Cape Recolour feature will also arrive with the update. The first look remains a work in progress, and the final version may change before release.
The game’s second anniversary will follow in early October. The Second Anniversary Update and Season Pass 3 will become available on the same day, following the same general formula used for the first and second years of post-launch content.
The team also confirmed that players will receive the Greatsword during Year 3. The next Community Update will reveal the full Year 3 Roadmap, followed by a Q&A session with the Game Director on Reddit.
Divine Retribution is live through September 8
The monthly Community Event is already live. Players have until September 8 to complete 3 Chaos PvE missions and earn 100 Accolades plus 150 Requisition Points.
The eligible missions are Vox Liberatis, Reliquary, Fall of Atreus, Obelisk, Vortex, Disruption, and Purgation. The Divine Retribution guide covers the mission requirements and rewards in detail.

Steam Workshop support continues to grow
The August update also thanked the modding community for the creativity that followed the launch of Steam Workshop support. New ideas and creations have continued to appear, giving players more ways to customize their time with Space Marine 2.
Anyone interested in creating mods can read the official modding guidelines. Players who would rather browse what the community has made can visit the Steam Workshop.
