Focus Entertainment has posted the October Community Update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The post lays out the new off-planet Operation map Reclamation, reveals the map’s boss encounter, outlines Public Test Server access, and previews two cosmetic DLC packs heading into Patch 11.0.
Two Tyranid Primes on Reclamation
The headline reveal is the new PvE boss fight: not one Tyranid Prime, but two. These are winged Tyranid leader beasts built on the Tyranid Warrior strain, equipped with heavy bladed limbs that can shred through armour. You will encounter them on “Reclamation”, an off-planet Operation where your objective is to infiltrate a captured ship and destroy it.
Patch 11.0 – Reclamation Update is planned for the end of November. The update will also add new Battlefield Conditions to Stratagems mode, new weapon variants, and additional armour pieces.
Public Test Server – try 11.0 early
If you play on Steam, the Public Test Server is open until November 4. The PTS includes the new PvE map, new Heroic Weapons, the equipment “Sanctified Wrath”, Chaos armour piece swapping in PvP, and other systems still marked Work In Progress. The PTS runs as a separate build – it gives players a default maxed-out level and weapons, and does not carry over regular save data.
There are two practical notes to keep in mind: the Reclamation boss fight is not available on the PTS build, and the new cosmetic DLCs cannot be equipped unless you own the Season Pass.

Two cosmetic DLCs: Blood Angels Champion and Salamanders
Patch 11.0 will include two paid cosmetic packs. The Blood Angels Champion Pack is modelled directly on the Blood Angels Captain miniature and includes an optional jump pack variant for Assault. The Salamanders Cosmetic Pack includes five armour pieces, four Successor Chapters, and a set of decals.

The Salamanders Successor Chapters listed are Dark Krakens, Dragonspears, Black Vipers, and Covenant of Fire.
Community event and rewards
Players collectively destroyed more than 400,000 Mutalith Vortex Beasts during the community event window. The milestone reward is the Infiltrator Helmet for the Vanguard and Sniper classes.

Focus Together Q&A highlights
The update also answers several popular ideas from Focus Together. Highlights include:
- Accolades will not be removed and are not yet tradable for Requisition points, though new ways to earn Accolades are planned.
- Space Wolves Champion shoulder pads will get a new option so they can be used on Tacticus and Gravis armour where appropriate.
- A laurel-less MK VII helmet will be added in a future update.
- The Battle Barge will gain a training sim or shooting range at a later date.
There are thousands of ideas on Focus Together and the team says it is working through them. For a full list of answered items, check the Focus Together ideas page here.
Quick links and context
We previously covered the demo window and compatibility patches for Space Marine 2, including the Patch 10.3 demo compatibility change and the free demo plus Steam sale that ran ahead of October. Readers who missed those items can find background in our earlier coverage of the Patch 10.3 demo compatibility and the free demo and sale.
That is the October update in a nutshell. Expect Patch 11.0 material to arrive on the Public Test Server first and the full Reclamation update toward the end of November. Try the PTS, file feedback on Focus Together or the Discord, and keep an eye on the PTS patch notes for changes between now and the final launch.
