According to the company itself, Sony will skip E3 2019. The official announcement has been posted on Game Informer first, alluding Sony’s attendance stance on E3 2019. Apparently, the company will seek other ways to promote and advertise rather than visiting the same podium that managed to bring them a huge success.
As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community,” the company told Game Informer in a statement. “PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you.
With that being said, after 24 years straight, Sony Interactive Entertainment will skip E3 2019 and will most likely host its own event, similar to what other triple-A developing companies hold throughout a year.
For an example, we can take Ubisoft and EA, in which their advertisement comes in a different form directly through their own events, however, it is far less known than E3.
