Hooded Horse has revealed the release date for Sons of Valhalla, an action/base-building hybrid game in which players build a fortress, recruit an army, and lay siege to enemy strongholds in a bid to the land of England.
Sons of Valhalla 1.0 will be released on PC on April 5, 2024, as per today’s press release.
Sons of Valhalla includes a side-scrolling combat with a base-building strategy in a beautiful pixel-art Viking Age world. Players assume the guise of Thorald Olavson, a warrior hell-bent on tracking the Jarl who burned down his home and kidnapped his beloved, with some help from Odin himself.
Embark on a glorious adventure with epic Viking game Sons of Valhalla this April
The unique action/base-building game will let players cut a bloody swath through England next month
But Thorald isn’t a demi-god, nor is he a one-man army. Players must ensure they build up their position and recruit a large enough warband to tackle the menagerie of foes that await them – each one requiring specific tactics to defeat. Siege engines will be needed to overcome defensive walls, and runes can be collected to augment Thorald and his warriors’ skills further. These runes can also be offered up as a sacrifice should players find themselves in front of Odin again…
Sons of Valhalla features:
- A hand-crafted, vibrant Viking Age world.
- A linear story spread across six distinct chapters, with hidden surprises.
- An endless horde mode to put your skills to the ultimate test.
- Over 40 different types of enemies as well as mercenary units and four unique recruitable characters: Shieldmaiden, Shaman, Blacksmith, and Berserker.
The game will be localized from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Korean, and Japanese.
Sons of Valhalla will release on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store on April 5, 2024.
