Smite Physical and Magical Protection Explanation

There are a lot of players interested in Smite Physical and Magical Protection, asking themselves how it works. we are going to try and bring you the best answer they can get. Looking at things, it looks pretty simple but as always, there is a math when it comes down to that.

They depend on the type of damage the gods apply. Also, the god’s protections inherit from the levels you have.

There is a formula around this.

Let’s say you are playing with a god that has a total physical penetration of 25 + 3.3 x level and + the protection from items.

Smite Physical and Magical Protection Formula

Actual damage is equal to (unmitigated damage x 100) / (100 + protection value)

Calculating that, a value of 50 protection will reduce damage by 33%. While 100 will reduce it by 50, and 150 is going to reduce it by 60. So, we are adding it by 10 always.

Getting that above, let’s say there is a god’s spell that will hit for 300 damage and you have around 60 magical protection. Then, the damage he deals will be calculated in this way:

(300 x 100) / (100 + 60) = 187.5

Simple as that.

This is how you calculate physical and magical protection in Smite. If there is something missing, please feel free to inform us in the comments section down below.
