Smite 2’s Closed Alpha 6 Patch Fixes Bugs and Issues

The latest Closed Alpha 6 patch for Smite 2, dropped on November 16, 2024, brings many bug fixes that aim to polish the experience for players diving into its chaotic arenas. While some issues have been addressed, it raises a few eyebrows. Let’s break down what this update means for our beloved gods and goddesses.

Smite 2 Closed Alpha 6 November 18 Patch Notes

GENERAL

  • Fixed issue where objective health bars didn’t show if an ally or ward had vision
  • Fixed issue with audio lowering momentarily when using abilities while standing over gifts in Arena
  • Fixed Buff Belt VFX being left lingering in the air

The general fixes are a mixed bag of relief and frustration. For starters, the missing objective health bars, a glitch that could turn any tactical advantage into sheer chaos, has finally been resolved. No more squinting at invisible health! The audio fix is particularly welcome, nothing ruins that adrenaline rush like suddenly losing sound mid-battle. However, one wonders how these bugs slipped through in the first place. Maybe they were busy crafting new skins instead?

GODS

Izanami
Spectral Projection
  • Fixed typo in description for ‘Projection’

Khepri
Abduct

  • Fixing duration not scaling up with rank to 1.9 seconds properly

Nemesis
Swift Vengeance

  • Fixed unable to cast second dash if out out of mana after the first cast

Izanami’s minor typo fix might seem trivial, but as anyone who’s ever stared at confusing descriptions knows, clarity is key to gameplay strategy, so cheers to that! Khepri fans will appreciate his improved scaling on Abduct; nothing feels worse than the underwhelming performance from a god you love. And Nemesis? Well, her second dash debacle was akin to being taunted by your abilities, glad that’s smoothed out now. But let’s not kid ourselves. The real question remains: will these changes lead us toward balanced gameplay or send us spiraling back into chaos?

This patch is undeniably a step forward for Smite 2, addressing several long-standing annoyances that detract from the immersive experience we crave as players. Yet there’s always room for improvement. One can only hope that future patches will continue this trend without introducing new bugs.

No matter how many patches launch or gods get buffed or nerfed, one truth remains: gaming is about camaraderie and epic battles against foes (and sometimes friends). So gear up, dive back into those arenas, and see how these changes play out!
