Smite 2 just landed a fresh hotfix that introduces a fiery new Agni aspect while adjusting several gods and item stats to disrupt the current meta. Whether you’re a fan of aggressive burst damage or prefer more nuanced builds, this patch aims to shift some dynamics around, mainly focusing on Princess Bari’s build variety and reining in some overperforming elements.
Patch Notes Overview
New Aspect – Agni
- Aspect of Combustion: Your Basic Attacks now ignite enemies, dealing damage over time with stacks up to five times. Flame Wave and Rain of Fire consume these ignites, unleashing a burst of damage. Note that Rain of Fire’s base damage has been reduced.
Items Adjustments
- Learnean Bow: Projectiles fired from this item no longer travel through walls.
- Sundering Arc: Damage dealt to gods decreased from 25 + 4 per level to 20 + 3 per level.
Gods Balance Changes
Poisidon Shift — Aspect of the Trident
- Trident (2): Focused Side Waves Damage reduced from 20/30/40/50/60 to 5/10/15/20/25.
Princess Bari Adjustments
The dev team shared:
“Princess Bari has been especially helpful since the latest round of item adjustments. We wanted to tone down the side of her that looks to be overperforming (Crit and Strength focus) while helping her less successful builds (Hybrid and especially Intelligence) see more success.”
- Mystic Surge (Passive): Attack Speed decreased from 10/14/18/22/26/40% to 10/14/18/22/26/30%.
- Sacred Bell (1): Landing Strength Scaling lowered from 80% to 65%. Rolling Strength Scaling also reduced from 80% to 65%. Landing Intelligence Scaling increased from 65% to 75%. Rolling Intelligence Scaling risen from 65% to 75%.
- Reverent Steps (3): Strength Scaling dropped from 110% to 95%, and Intelligence Scaling rose from 40% to 55%.
Kali Tweaks
- Lash (2): Intelligence scaling decreased from 30% to 25%. Bleed Intelligence scaling lowered from15% to10%.
- Incense (3): Heal Intelligence scaling cut down from 10% to 7% per stack.

This patch leaves room for some interesting strategic shifts. The new Agni aspect invites players who like applying pressure with persistent burn effects while managing cooldowns carefully. Meanwhile, tweaking Princess Bari’s stats could push players toward experimenting with hybrid or intelligence setups instead of relying solely on crit-heavy builds—a welcome shake-up in my book after seeing many games dominated by cookie-cutter loadouts recently.
