Smite 2 just got a quick OB16 hotfix on August 14th that tackles some gameplay annoyances and odd bugs players have been running into. Fixing relic interactions and tweaking Janus’ portals might seem small, but it smooths out some frustrating moments in matches. Let’s break down what changed.
First up, the Agility Relic now properly respects effects that block relics. Before, players could dash out of Hecate’s A04 tween, which felt kinda unfair. This fix should stop that sneaky escape from happening. Yikes, that must’ve annoyed a lot of players.
For Achilles, the team fixed the short ability descriptions on his one and Ultimate. Not the flashiest fix, but hey, clear info helps everyone.
Janus got a bunch of attention. The description for his “Thinking With Portals” now includes a distance tracker, so you can better judge portal placement. More importantly, his Portal ability no longer spawns wall portals at the origin point when creating ground portals, no more weird glitches there. It also now respects cripple effects, and won’t let stacked allies pass through all at once or in a staggered way. Sounds like a solid patch to prevent some portal shenanigans.
They also tweaked Janus’ Unstable Vortex to make it harder for him to double-hit targets. The devs said they’re investigating a longer-term fix, so maybe this is just a temporary patch.
Danzaborou’s</strong “Dishonest Duplication” clones now stop and attack when in range. That should make his clones behave more naturally instead of just running around aimlessly.
