SMITE 2 players woke up to a fresh hotfix on July 3, eager to smooth out some rough edges from the OB13 update. The patch fixes several crashes and a slew of Mercury-related bugs that were causing headaches in matches. Plus, it spruces up the Assault map’s lighting and adds sound effects to the new queue screen.
Mercury mains might breathe easier now, the patch tackles multiple issues with his abilities. His Maximum Velocity (2) no longer causes desync problems, root immunity, or breaks his attack animations. His Special Delivery (3) is also fixed to properly grant knockup immunity and avoid trapping him in a spinning animation. Even Mercury’s passive, which was accidentally buffing empowered basic attacks, got toned down.
Besides Mercury’s whirlwind of fixes, some quirky minion “moonwalking” behavior has been corrected, and the Joust Teleporter will be available from the start of matches instead of being disabled for 10 minutes. The Assault map’s odd blue lighting, which previously threw off the vibe in some areas, has been adjusted. Also, players using Action Cam won’t see oversized global emotes anymore, and Xbox users will finally see their mouse cursor again.
