Slay the Spire 2 Teases a Mysterious Creature, but the Next Patch Has No Date
Mega Crit will sell only 250 Ironclad variants of the original game's vinyl soundtrack at New York Comic Con from October 8-11.
Slay the Spire 2 has a new creature teaser, but Mega Crit is still keeping the next patch’s timing under wraps. In the September Neowsletter, the team said it had returned from a break in Barcelona and resumed work on new features, game modes, content, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. Much of that work is already being tested internally, though Mega Crit has not provided a patch window or further details.
The teaser is a return to the Spire Spotting segment, which previously gave fans early clues about upcoming content. Mega Crit has now identified another unexplored area of the Spire and shown the silhouette of what appears to be a small, floating creature. Its exact form remains unknown, but the team is inviting fans to submit artistic interpretations by Thursday, October 8.
Submissions can be sent to [email protected] or through the game’s Discord fanart channel. The teaser follows the July Neowsletter’s focus on Aeonglass, giving fans another piece of the sequel to study while the next update remains unannounced.
New York Comic Con will bring an Ironclad vinyl variant
Fans attending New York Comic Con from October 8-11 will also have a chance to pick up a limited Ironclad variant of the Slay the Spire 1 vinyl soundtrack. Mana Wave will sell the record at Booth 2778, with only 250 copies planned.
Connections and fan art round out the September issue
The issue also includes a new Slay the Spire Connections puzzle. Its community art section highlights a Knowledge Demon illustration by BostonThreapyStaion, a flooded Underdocks map by Dark, and a chronicle of Silent’s journey through the Overgrowth by josuk.
Artist patience supplied the month’s autumn-themed cover, while the next community theme will be Neow-lloween. Entries must be 800×450 pixels, contain no text, leave room for a title, and arrive by Thursday, October 8.
