Skull and Bones Year 2 Content is Coming Soon

Ubisoft reveals exciting plans for Year 2 of the pirate adventure game.

If you’ve been sailing the treacherous waters of Skull and Bones, you might be excited to hear that Ubisoft has some fresh content for its ambitious pirate action-adventure game.

According to sources familiar with Ubisoft’s plans, we can expect Year 2 Season 1 to launch early next year. This new season promises an array of exciting additions, including brand-new PvP game modes, intriguing places of interest (POIs), new world tiers, and so much more. More ways to engage with other players while channeling your inner swashbuckler!

There’s talk around town that Ubisoft is also looking into premium crossover events. One particularly juicy rumor hints at a potential crossover event with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, coinciding with the release of its remake (codenamed Obsidian). Whether this tantalizing idea will come to fruition is still up in the air, but it’s certainly fun to speculate!

You might find it surprising that Skull and Bones is getting a second year of content, considering Ubisoft recently made headlines by canceling their free-to-play title XDefiant. That decision led to significant job losses, with nearly 300 people affected! However, I’ve heard whispers that a dedicated player base is ready for more adventures on the high seas.

The current surprise suggests that player numbers may be higher than expected, though exact statistics remain unverified. As if trying to sweeten the deal even further, the game’s price has dropped from £49.99 to just £20.00 on the Ubisoft store page. Plus, if you’re cautious before diving in headfirst, a generous six-hour free demo is available for PC players. What better way to test those waters?
