Silksong is getting its first patch next week from developer Team Cherry, and a playable beta branch is already available on Steam. Patch 1.0.28470 targets several bugs while slightly easing the early-game difficulty and increasing rosary rewards, adjustments that may alter the rate at which players progress early on.
Patch 1.0.28470 makes a handful of modest adjustments to difficulty and economy, including a slight nerf to the early bosses Moorwing and Sister Splinter and a damage cut for Sandcarvers in the Blasted Steps. The community-installed beta branch linked above is already letting players test the fixes and balance tweaks, and the notes mention retroactive application for earlier progress-blocking bugs. Players who found the early bosses punishing will notice smaller margins of failure after the patch, and mid-game progression should require fewer repetitive trips for rosaries and bench upgrades. It should help.
Those who followed the conversation are aware that Moorwing has caused problems for many players, and a report stating that it has “been giving players considerable trouble” contributed to the discussion about the difficulty. Act 2 bench and Bellway prices are also reduced, which directly lowers the travel and upgrade tax mid-game and reduces some of the repetition around resource gathering.
Silksong still reads as a deliberately thorny follow-up in tone and design. Still, these tweaks suggest Team Cherry is willing to adjust difficulty in small, surgical ways rather than overhaul the experience wholesale. A recent discussion argued the game has a “considerably-difficult on-ramp” for some players, and these changes aim to unclench a few of the tight early moments that were most complained about in that thread.
