Silent Hill 2 briefly appeared for sale on the Australian Xbox Store hours before Microsoft’s Xbox Partner Showcase, with the listing showing a 50% discount and confirming Xbox Play Anywhere support.
The listing itself pointed to an active store page on the Australian storefront, which was captured while live. The Australian Xbox Store listing showed the game available to buy at half price and marked it as an Xbox Play Anywhere release, meaning a single purchase would grant play on both compatible Xbox consoles and Windows PCs.
We previously spotted other Xbox Store slips for the game and an earlier this month removed release date entry. Our earlier coverage also flagged an ESRB listing for Xbox Series X/S that suggested Microsoft platform ratings were already in place, and a separate site update hinted at Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 availability. For a quick sense of reception, Metacritic currently lists the game with an 86 critic score and a 9.1 user score based on existing reviews, though those reflect prior releases rather than this storefront appearance.
Store slips like this tend to surface ahead of official announcements. Microsoft’s Showcase is scheduled soon and could confirm platform availability and pricing worldwide, or the listing could be pulled while details are finalized. For now the Australian listing is the clearest public sign that an Xbox release is imminent.
