Sega, in partnership with Creative Assembly, has revealed Total War: Pharaoh, the latest installment in their award-winning grand strategy series. Promising a journey back to Ancient Egypt during the vibrant and tumultuous New Kingdom period, this new title will be released digitally for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in October 2023.
During the Bronze Age Collapse, the game’s setting allows players to shape the destiny of three distinct cultures – Egyptian, Canaanite, and Hittite. The fate of these cultures lies in the player’s ability to master dynamic real-time battles and turn-based empire management, with the ultimate goal of ascending as Egypt’s last great Pharaoh.
The base game will feature eight playable factions divided among the three cultures at launch. The Egyptian factions include Ramesses, Seti, Tausret, and Amenmesse; Canaanite players can choose between Bay and Irsu; and the Hittite options are Kurunta and Suppiluliuma.
Total War: Pharaoh will retail at £49.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 for the base game, while the Deluxe Edition and the Dynasty Edition are priced at £61.17 / $72.87 / €72.87 and £77.96 / $91.46 / €91.46, respectively. The Deluxe Edition contains the base game, the first DLC Faction Pack, and the game’s Digital Soundtrack. In contrast, the Dynasty Edition offers three DLC Faction Packs, a DLC Campaign Pack, and the game’s Digital Soundtrack, providing a more extensive game experience.
