SCUM is putting roaming wildlife back on the island this June

The June 29 update will also bring a partial wipe to official servers, while a Public Alpha is already live for players who want to test the feature early.

SCUM is heading back into the wild. The game’s June update will go live on Monday, June 29, and the headline feature is the return of free-roaming animals across the island.

The studio said this is the second Into The Wild update, and it keeps the focus on hunting, fishing, farming, cooking, and survival systems. A Free-Roaming Animals Public Alpha is already live, so players can try the feature before the full update lands.

The June patch will also bring a partial wipe for official servers. Character stats and gold will stay, but bases, gear, and supplies on official servers will be cleared. Private servers will not be forced into that wipe, and the team said it wants official wipes to line up with the start of each new themed update cycle.

There is more in the build than wildlife alone. The June update will also add the Hunting Fundamentals Quest, Trophy Fish Wall Mounts, bug fixes, balance changes, quality-of-life updates, and other Into The Wild content when it arrives on June 29.

If you want to test the animal system early, the Public Alpha can be accessed through Steam’s Betas tab, and the test is focused on official Public Alpha servers only. Private server owners will not get the alpha files for this round.
