The free Saros: Zenith update is now available to all Saros owners on PS5, adding accessibility settings, a postgame challenge mode and a boss gauntlet. PlayStation outlined the changes in its October 19 Saros: Zenith announcement.
More time to react, fewer buttons to hold
The new Slow Game Speed setting gives players more time to read enemy attacks without removing their projectiles. Players can adjust how much the game slows down and choose whether it activates automatically during combat or through a manual toggle.
Auto-fire takes care of shooting while a weapon is aimed at a hostile, but reloading remains manual. A perfect reload still depends on a well-timed button press. Motion Sensor Aiming joins the existing button remapping options, giving players more ways to tailor the controls.
Eclipse Layers build on Carcosan Modifiers
Zenith adds 10 Protection Modifiers to make runs more forgiving and 10 Trial Modifiers for added difficulty. One Protection option, Corruption Melee Enhancement, turns built-up Corruption into extra melee damage and consumes it when the strike connects. Corruption otherwise builds on Arjun’s armor after hits from certain projectiles, reducing his maximum Integrity.
Hostile Regeneration is one of the new Trials. Weapon damage can stun larger enemies, but they recover quickly, so players must close in and finish them with a melee strike.

After clearing Saros, players can find new nodes in the Armor Matrix at Passage that unlock the next Eclipse Layer. Each layer changes the rules and requires a modifier loadout that meets a set threshold. Reaching it takes multiple Trial Modifiers, with 25 Trials available to choose from.
Taking on more Trials and raising Modifier Balance makes Arjun’s Crown and golden armor more elaborate. The Crown also helps reveal 12 Visions, murals and messages left across Carcosa. Some of their story text requires a higher Crown level to perceive.
Overlord Rush puts eight bosses in one gauntlet
Overlord Rush is a training simulation accessed through the Primary Unit in Passage. Its Incursion and Ascension sets each feature three Overlords and can be completed in 10 minutes. Totality brings all eight Overlords together in one continuous run.
Players can compare scores with friends and on global leaderboards, with results filterable by Main Weapon. An internet connection and PlayStation account are required for these online features.
