Rumor Says Call of Duty 2024 Might be Cross-Gen Title

Activision is keeping the Call of Duty train rolling with an exciting new premium title launching in November 2023. But what will 2024 have to offer fans? Reports indicate that Activision may be taking charge, creating a brand-new cross-gen experience for all gamers. The rumor has started whirling around recently, and if it turns out accurate, the lifespan of the previous-gen console might get extended.

The report has been relayed by Insider Gaming, which based on documents provided to the outlet from the recent Activision data breach, suggests that Call of Duty 2024 has a codename Cerberus, and it could be heading to the past generation consoles.

There have been rumors circulating about the future of the Call of Duty franchise, suggesting that the upcoming release of Call of Duty 2023 will mark the end of past generation versions of the game. Despite the information received about the possibility that Cerberus may be available on older consoles, further details cannot be divulged at this time.

Furthermore, it was revealed through previous reports that some of the information that had been made public on Twitter has since been altered. This implies that the references discovered may no longer be current, even though a previous version of Call of Duty 2024 was once in the works.

However, there is some indication that another game from a previous generation of Call of Duty could be in the works. This is because the game now utilizes the same engine, regardless of which studio is working on it. The transition to this system was made with COD 2.0 to facilitate a more streamlined development process across all studios involved.
