The RPCS3 team released the first public 2026 build of its PlayStation 3 emulator, and PC users can download it from the project’s official site.
This build moves several big exclusives closer to being playable on modern hardware. Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 run in a playable state, while God of War 3 shows clearer performance overall – the Prologue fight with Poseidon is emulated cleanly, though later sections may still show glitches on some setups.
Metal Gear Solid 4 continues to suffer visual glitches and performance problems, so full, smooth runs remain unreliable. Heavenly Sword is in a much better state and benefits from community patches that unlock 60 FPS on PC. MotorStorm is playable at 60 FPS on high-end rigs, and Demon’s Souls can be played from start to finish with current builds.
Some demanding titles still struggle. Killzone 2 drops below 60 FPS even on powerful CPUs, and the official compatibility list marks both Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 as not playable from start to finish. You can download the new build from the RPCS3 website.
Gameplay footage and community tests for several games are available; one example demo for Uncharted 3 can be found here:
