Suda51’s ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN will launch on February 11, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the developer announced. The new IP comes from the studio behind the No More Heroes trilogy, The Silver Case, and Shadows of the Damned and promises the over-the-top violence and stylistic flair longtime fans expect.
The premise
The developer’s official description lays out the setup and the protagonist’s goals:
“Snatched from the brink of death by his donning of the rad mask “DeadGear”, FBI Space-Time special agent, Romeo Stargazer, sets out to hunt the most wanted fugitives in existence across the multiverse, armed with a heady arsenal of guns and close-combat weapons. And as if being stuck in a strange limbo between life and death as DeadMan and tasked with navigating a shattered space-time continuum isn’t enough, Romeo also has to contend with the sudden disappearance of his mysterious girlfriend, Juliet.”
The game’s release date announcement arrived alongside a new trailer. The trailer ends with what appears to be a mech and a Gundam reference, leaving some of the setting and tone intentionally mysterious while showcasing fast-paced combat and stylized violence.
