Rocksteady Hires Ex-Assassin’s Creed Director to Lead Next Batman Game

Bill Money joins Rocksteady as game director after a decade at Ubisoft Singapore.

Rocksteady Studios has hired Bill Money as a game director, according to his LinkedIn, and he started work in July 2025. The move matters because Money’s arrival ties directly to Batman, the studio many expect to put him on its next major project.

Bill Money lists the role on his LinkedIn profile, noting he joined Rocksteady in mid-2025. Before the hire, he spent ten years at Ubisoft Singapore as a game director. His credits there include leading work on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the Siege of Paris DLC, and Origins. Earlier roles include creative director at Darkside Game Studios and design director at WB Games Montreal.

Rocksteady has not confirmed which project Money will direct, though reporting has linked him to the studio’s next Batman title. The developer’s last mainline Batman release was Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015, followed by smaller projects and 2023’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Separately, LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight was revealed at Gamescom and is currently slated for 2026.

Earlier this year Rocksteady reduced headcount as support for Suicide Squad wrapped up. Warner Bros. has publicly stated that it will focus on major franchises, which frames this hire as part of a broader strategic shift. How Money’s leadership will influence design direction or tone remains unclear.
