Grow a Garden, one of the most popular experiences on Roblox, has responded to player concerns about recent events feeling rushed and uninspired. Developer Jandel shared on the game’s Discord that many players have requested older events, such as the Hungry Plant and Bee event, to return, expressing dissatisfaction with the last few updates.
To address this, the development team has grown and now includes two dedicated events squads. This change will allow more than one week to develop each event, enabling teams to work on separate events simultaneously. Jandel hopes this will give them “more time to polish and create things that are distinct and more time to work on cool new features.” It’s a promising move, especially after the recent Prehistoric update, which brought dinosaurs roaming the yard, a fun addition.
The update message wasn’t just about acknowledging player feedback. Pet gifting, which was previously removed, will be reinstated. The delay was due to a backend rewrite needed to fix a pet duplication exploit. This rewrite also prepares the game for trading, which should become available soon. So, pet lovers, there’s good news coming your way!
Another upcoming feature involves pets at level 100. Players will be able to use a new machine to transform these pets into distinct mutations, adding passives, buffs, and cosmetics. Since leveling pets can be slow, the game will also introduce craftable and purchasable XP boosts to help players reach those mutations faster.
Overall, Grow a Garden is taking steps to offer players more thoughtful content and features. It’s interesting to see how they’re balancing player requests with technical improvements. I wonder how these changes will impact the community’s enthusiasm as we move forward. What do you think about the new approach?
