Rise of the Ronin, an open-world action RPG from Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA, gears up for its release on PC. Mark your calendars for March 11 because this is one journey you won’t want to miss, especially if you’ve been itching for some samurai action!

Rise of the Ronin first made waves when it launched on PlayStation 5 in March 2024. Now, it’s ready to take on a new audience through Steam. Priced at $49.99, players who snag the game by April 2 will also get their hands on some sweet pre-order bonuses previously offered with the PS5 version.

  • Four combat styles:
    • Hayabusa-ryu for Katana
    • Hayabusa-ryu for Naginata
    • Nioh-ryu for Katana
    • Aisu Kage-ryu for Katana
  • Iga Ninja’s Katana
  • Iga Ninja Armor Set (a four-piece set)

The game offers an intriguing setting during Japan’s tumultuous Bakumatsu period. Players step into the role of a ronin crafting their own narrative amid wars and political chaos. With multiple endings and faction affiliations influencing outcomes, every choice can lead you down a different path—how’s that for replayability?

PC Features Galore!

The developers have promised several features exclusive to the PC version that should impress even the most discerning gamers:

  • 8K resolution support.
  • DirectX 12 Ultimate support.
  • Ultra-wide and super ultra-wide monitor compatibility.
  • 120 frames per second support.
  • Ray tracing support.
  • 3D audio support.
  • Customizable keyboard and mouse controls.
  • AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution support.
  • NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex support.
  • User interface menu with mouse clickability.
  • Intel XeSS graphics technology support.

If you’re like me, someone who appreciates stunning visuals and smooth gameplay, these features sound enticing! It’s not just about playing; it’s about experiencing it all in vibrant detail. The intense combat styles coupled with beautiful cities like Edo and Kyoto means you’ll have plenty to feast your eyes upon while slashing through foes or taking picturesque snapshots in Photo Mode.

The narrative transports us back to Japan in 1863 amidst political upheaval as Western forces make their move. It’s a chaotic time where every decision counts, from choosing which historical figures to protect or eliminate to navigating alliances between factions like shogunate supporters or those fighting against them. Every choice shapes your story, making each playthrough distinctly yours!

If you’re curious about what all this looks like in motion, check out the trailer below:

This upcoming release speaks volumes about how developers embrace PC gaming culture, offering us options we didn’t know we needed until now! What aspect are you most excited about? Will it be diving into this chaotic world as a ronin or perhaps experimenting with different combat styles? Share your thoughts below!
